The Internationally award winning documentary film "My beloved child" (105 min) follows a 33 year old woman's life prior to serving a 7 year prison sentence for killing her own 66 year old father. He sexually abused her from she was 6 - 17 years old. He also abused her sister who became a drug addict and died of an overdose at the age of 38. The film brings us back to their childhood and describes how sexual abuse can go on for years without anyone is reacting to it.
"My beloved child" is broadly used by child care centers, nurseries, primary schools up to college and university levels, doctors, nurses, hospitals, health clinics, woman shelters, incest centers, dentists, churches, aid organizations, police departments, law offices and others working with children, youths, families and adults, in order to treat, solve, prevent and/or stop child abuse. The film deals with issues like sexual abuse, drugs, suicide, late effects.
The movie is 105 minutes long and the DVD also contains a 75 minute first cut with several extra scenes.
