SYNOPSIS IN ENGLISHThe Internationally award winning documentary film from Norway, "My beloved child" (Mitt elskede barn), follows a 33 year old woman's life prior to serving a 7 year prison sentence for killing her own 66 year old father. He sexually abused her from she was 6 - 17 years old. He also abused her sister who became a drug addict and died of an overdose at the age of 38. The film brings us back totheir childhood and describes how sexual abuse can go on for years without anyone is reacting to it. "My beloved child" deals with issues like physical, emotional and sexual abuse, domestic problems, suicide, drug issues, societies responsibility, individual responsibility, post effects/late consequences of childhood traumas. "My beloved child" has won several international first prizes at film festivals all over the world. It is licensed to be screened for "All audiences". Teachers in primary schools as well as universities and colleges uses the film. It is also much used in health institutions, by psychologists, therapists, medical doctors, day care centers, churches, and people in general who works for and with children,youths or grown ups, that has experienced abuse, incest, trauma, violence, rape, depression, angst, drug- and alcohol abuse, suicide, bullying, and more.

Den Internasjonalt prisvinnende norske dokumentarfilmen "Mitt elskede barn" følger livet til den 33 år gamle kvinnen, Sigrid Beate Edvardsen, i tiden før hun skal i fengsel og sone en straff på 7 år for å ha tatt livet av sin egen 66 år gamle far. Faren forgrep seg seksuelt på “pappas prinsesse” fra hun var seks til 17 år gammel. Han forgrep seg også på hennes fem år eldre søster, som ble narkoman og døde av en overdose da hun var 38 år gammel. "Mitt elskede barn" tar oss tilbake til deres barndom og viser hvordan seksuelle overgrep kan pågå i årevis uten at noen reagerer og griper inn. Filmen tar opp temaer som fysiske, psykiske og seksuelle overgrep, alkoholmisbruk, familieproblemer, selvmord, rus, samfunnets ansvar, individets ansvar, senskader og traumer.
